WHAT IS ACUPUNCTURE? 

Acupuncture is one of the oldest and most powerful methods of treating acute or chronic pain. By the time most patients come to an acupuncturist, they have tried every-thing else with little or no long-term help.  Now the good news... Acupuncture is able to help 70% of the people who visit us (that’s seven out of ten people who have experienced relief from symptoms and a dramatic reduction in pain!) Many wished they had come sooner... 

This modality enhances and compliments a wide variety of contemporary soft tissue therapy such as Chiropractors, RMT Massage, Athletic and Physiotherapies; even medications seem to work better when you are receiving acupuncture as well.

  CAN ACUPUNCTURE HELP YOU? 

Obviously we can make no promises, but acupuncture has a good track record spanning many thousands of years. It is a safe, drug free, no side effect, system of healing. At the very worst, it might not work; at the very best, you will experience freedom from pain and other related symptoms.

  WHAT HAPPENS? 

Great care is taken to ensure your comfort and well being. A short case history involving a few medical and symptom questions will be asked.  You will be led to a quite private room where you will be placed on a comfortable reclining chair, followed by an examination on the area of your discomfort. When satisfied, the acupuncturist will insert 5-12 very thin (just a little thicker than a human hair) needles. There is no pain; in fact you will not even ” feel” most of them.  You will be left in the room with subdued lighting and gentle relaxing music for about 20 minutes. Most people relax fully and even fall asleep. After the needles have been removed you should feel better and much more relaxed. Sometimes it takes a little longer to have an effect, so please be patient. Not everybody responds to acupuncture, but remember 7 out 10 do.
